The PRINCE2 (6th Edition) Practitioner is a course intended to introduce students to the more detailed aspects of the PRINCE2 processes and management products, linked to the principles and themes introduced in the Foundation course. It is also intended to prepare students for the Practitioner Certificate examination. The official PRINCE2 manual provides comprehensive and interrelated methods in the form of Principles, Themes and Processes, with the aim of managing and delivering project-related changes from start to finish

Who Should Attend Our PRINCE2 Practitioner Training Courses?

  • Individuals who require a deeper understanding of the PRINCE2 methodology, structure and key concepts, and how it may be used to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of project management within an organization.
  • Managers, team leaders or other professionals that are working within an organization that has adopted PRINCE2 who need to be informed about and thereafter contribute to one or more projects or a larger programme.

The PRINCE2 Practitioner Course Objectives

Candidates can expect to gain understanding of how to apply (to a scenario) the following upon successful completion of the education and examination components related to this certification.

  • Pre-project stage:
    • This unit describes the preliminary stage before detailed plans or costings are made and includes these processes:
      • Starting up a Project process
      • Directing a Project process
  • Initiation stage:
    • This unit describes the stage where the detailed investigation, planning and estimating is done, to allow an informed decision to made about delivery and includes these processes:
      • Directing a Project process
      • Initiating a Project process
      • Managing a Stage Boundary process
  • Delivery stage(s):
    • This unit describes the stage(s) where the project is actually delivered (excluding the final delivery stage) and includes these processes:
      • Directing a Project process
      • Managing a Stage Boundary process
      • Controlling a Stage process
      • Managing Product Delivery process
  • Final stage:
    • This unit describes the final delivery (and handover) stage before the project is evaluated and closed and includes these processes:
      • Directing a Project process
      • Controlling a Stage process
      • Managing Product Delivery process
      • Closing a Project process

The PRINCE2 (6th Edition) Practitioner Course Structure

Classroom:  This is an instructor-led classroom (physical or virtual) based course that uses a combination of lectures, group discussions, assignments and sample exams to reinforce the key learning topics, and is based on AXELOS Best Practice Guidelines as documented in the Managing Successful Projects using PRINCE2 book (available for purchase separately).

eLearning:   This is a self-paced online version of the course which uses recorded lectures, checkpoint tests and sample exams normally available for a 90-day licence. The exam is provided remotely online after the training.

Blended:  This is a combination of eLearning and 4 regular 2-hour progress/revisions usually spread over 8 weeks

All courses include the exam.

The PRINCE2 Professional Qualification

The PRINCE2 Practitioner Certificate. The format for the exam paper is 68 multiple-choice questions. It is a supervised, open-book exam – the duration of which is a maximum of 2 hours 30 minutes if taken in the delegate’s native language.
