As you may be aware, the next version of ITIL has just officially been launched
AXELOS developed the syllabus and guidance for the new Foundation course
The very weekend it was released to ATOs (Accredited Training Organisations) we started analysing it to see what was new or different from the existing version.
We have been blending the new guidance, our look-and-feel and industry knowledge to create our own version of the course which was successfully accredited at the first attempt before the end of October, to support variants of ITIL training to suit different groups:
- 1 or 2-day variants enabling the teaching of a ‘bridging course’ at higher or detailed level
- 3-day variants for the usual Foundation course
- 4-day variants examining every single one of the ITIL 4’s 34 practices
We wanted to do this early to
- Ensure our understanding of the material matched that of the exam institute
- Have a version ready for customisation by our partners around the world who rely on our material for delivery
To this end we have:
- Re-designed and transitioned our ITIL 4 Foundation v1.2 material following train-the-trainer sessions feedback from internal and external experts (consultants and trainers)
- Recorded a video walkthrough of What’s New/Different (at a high level) in ITIL 4 – here
- Recorded a video walkthrough for partners to guide them through our training material (our very own material-specific train-the-trainer)
We are currently:
- Creating our own FoxLEARN self-paced study version of the ITIL 4 Foundation course – expected release in early March 2019
- Updating FoxPRISM to align our established policies and processes to the ITIL 4 framework – expected release in April 2019
